About

Harry Sandwith, the Hogfather

Rider, retired cop, master detailer. The man behind Hogfather Motorcycle Detailing and Dirty Harry's Detailing.

A rider first

Harry has been on motorcycles his whole life. He and his late brother detailed bikes and cars as a hobby for years while Harry served 26 years with the Jersey City Police Department.

In 2008 Harry was hurt in a motorcycle crash while delivering toys for charity. It ended his police career early, and the hobby became the business.

Today he lives in Cape Coral, Florida, where he and his wife Deborah run Hogfather from their home shop. Back in New Jersey, his son Joe runs the Hogfather shop and his daughter Gina runs Dirty Harry's.

Why "the Hogfather"

"I had so many requests from the AFO detailers, also known as the Detail Mafia, to show them the intricacies of detailing a fine bike, that I began flying out to their locations."Harry Sandwith, Professional Carwashing & Detailing

Those trips became the Hogfather network. By 2017 six detailers around the country were working under the Hogfather name. Harry even made his own bike spray, Hog Gloss, in a thin 8-ounce bottle that rides in a saddlebag without leaking.

At McCall's Motorworks Revival during Monterey Car Week, Harry and fellow Detail Mafia member Bob Wiener detailed an ARCH motorcycle for Keanu Reeves, who co-founded the company.

Giving back

Harry has done pro bono work on veterans' vehicles, restored police and EMS vehicles after Hurricane Sandy, and restored vintage fire trucks for museums. In Cape Coral he is a member of Eagles Lodge 3957 and the Cape Coral Cop Shop.
